 I was deeply saddened to hear of Commissioner Stefan Feller's passing. My thoughts and condolences are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

I had the privilege of serving as Stefan's special assistant, when he was the UN Police Adviser from 2013 to 2017, and in those years, I came to appreciate his unique qualities, his dedication, and his unwavering support for those around him. While he had a distinctive approach to leadership and a way of seeing things that might not always align with the conventional, his humanity shone through in everything he did. He truly cared about the well-being of his staff and was always attentive to the personal and professional development of those who worked closely with him.

Stefan’s guidance and encouragement were invaluable to me during my time in his office. He gave me the freedom and support I needed to grow, both professionally and personally, and I will always be grateful for the trust he placed in me. His approach to leadership was one of compassion and understanding, and it was clear that he took great pride in fostering a positive, productive environment for his team.

It is rare to encounter a person who leaves such a lasting and positive impact on others, and I feel fortunate to have worked alongside him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of care, dedication, and support that will not be forgotten.
